The latest on the presidential horse race.

New Hampshire: Trump and Sanders Maintain, Fiorina Gains, Carson and Clinton Slump

The latest poll by NBC and the Wall Street Journal for New Hampshire has revealed that Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are leading their respective parties, while both Ben Carson and Hillary Clinton have slumped dramatically in the results of this poll.

Which Democratic candidate would you vote for?

  • Bernie Sanders – 42%
  • Hillary Clinton – 28%
  • Joe Biden – 18%

Which Republican candidate would you vote for?

  • Donald Trump – 21%
  • Carly Fiorina – 16%
  • Jeb Bush – 11%
  • Ben Carson – 10%
  • Marco Rubio – 10%
  • Ted Cruz – 6%
  • John Kasich – 6%

Sanders managed to edge out Clinton in this poll. He has successfully done this before in New Hampshire and he continues to buildup momentum in his campaign. Sanders has yet to release a strong platform regarding gun control, something that Clinton accomplished on Monday. Clinton is starting to get vocal on major issues, in an attempt to win back voters who are turning to Sanders.

For the Republicans, Trump is still the candidate to beat, but he is struggling in the polls and his opponents are chipping away at his lead. Carson lost a lot of ground in this poll to Carly Fiorina, but he is still above her in other polls and when averages are considered. Carson is a more attractive candidate than Fiorina and he should recover in future polls. Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush performed decently in this poll. Bush’s chances of becoming president are sinking lower and lower, while Rubio continues to climb as Republican voters see him as a reasonable candidate that shies away from the radicalism that his party is often associated with.
